Songwriting
Every time I start a session I love to put myself in service of the song. I believe in writing about very personal things that can resonate with everyone who listens. Above all, music should be true to itself and aim for authenticity and its ability to connect. I aim for that in every song I write, whether it is for my artistic project or for someone else.
Music Production & Engineering
Delving into the production, engineering, mixing and mastering side of music has been very fulfilling. As in songwriting, I try to work using the ideology of working in service of the song and I have had the pleasure to produce and engineer for a variety of artists and projects.
I had the greatest experience of participating in this wonderful project during the Berklee Global Career Summit as a Songwriter and Assisting Producer. This song was composed, recorded and mixed during a three-day workshop along some of my peers. I loved working with the musicians as well as assisting Magda Giannikou during the production, to make sure we could get this done in the times we could meet in those three days. ‘Um Dia Mais’ combines experiential vignettes from different perspectives on the meaning of "a new morning". It is a song about hope, opportunity to start over, appreciating your surroundings, and seizing your day.
Electronic Music &
Sound Design
One thing I love of modern-music making is that there is no excuse in finding inspiration. Whether you’re using a computer or recording on your phone, there are a million ways to create something new or unique. I have a passion for synthesis and sound design for this reason. it brings me fresh ideas for electronic music and inspires me to create even more.
‘F Train’ was one of the finalist winners for the INOCONtest 2021, showcased by electronic producer, Ill.Gates and LYRE.
Exploration through sound design has given me a refreshing side of music production that continues to inspire me. For this scene from Guillermo del Toro's film Pan's Labyrinth, I recreated sounds and effects using ONLY sound design techniques from software and hardware synthesizers.
TRIPPIN is one of the audio-reactive environments I created for my Master’s thesis at Berklee. The aim of my thesis was to explore the relationship between architecture and music and how one can inspire the other as well as affect each other. Visuals were done with TouchDesigner, and the geometry is affected by low and high frequencies of the electronic track. Each frame portrays an environment created by the geometry affected.
